My BWP installation

Ok i have installed the game using BWS but i cannot start it. Every time i try to start new game(either in single or multi) i get:

[Sun 15 Feb 2015 09:35:03] ASSERTION FAILED! Return Address: 0x86BE9E File: ObjAnimation.cpp Line: 23792 Expression: itemFlags&ITEM_FLAGS_TWOHANDED && resref != "" Message: (null)

Before the installation i forgot to start the game and make a save - could this be the culprit of everything? Do i have to reinstall ?
