Just want to introduce people to my new mod, Scales of Balance (or SoB for short).
SoB is a tweak mod intended to alter various basic aspects of the game - a collection of 'house rules' to make things more balanced, more geared specifically toward the BG2 engine, and most of all more fun. There are many components, which fall into four categories.
1) Item tweaks. One component makes largely cosmetic changes, reding the number of +'s in in-game item descriptions, and standardizing item enchantment into normal, 'mastercraft' (+1), 'enchanted' (+2), named items (+3), and artifacts (+5). The second component makes small tweaks to damage values and things like that, to balance weapons against each other. The item tweaks are delivered as a separate mod, for load order reasons (they need to go in before SCS).
2) Basic game tweaks. These components modify the following:
- stats, saves, XP tables, spell tables
- a complete re-thinking of the weapon proficiency system
- somewhat liberalized multiclassing rules
- revised druid shapeshifting
- added cantrips for wizards
- warrior kit rebalancing
- revised kensai kit that can actually only specialize in one weapon class, like the description says
- paladin kit modifications
- vanilla cleric kit modifications
3) New kits. 2 new fighter kits, 4 new ranger kits, 7 new cleric kits, 2 new thief kits, and 3 new bars kits. Also 8 other new kits which are hidden (not too hidden though) as Easter eggs because they are
4) NPC modifications. These components allow you to apply some of the new kits, or some original kits, to various NPCs. (I basically made it for EE players, if you play TOB/TuTu/BGT then you can use the excellent Level1NPCs instead.)
There are no "core" components; you can install anything you like and ignore anything you don't like. To a great extent, you can mix and match components with those from other mods, like Song & Silence kits or Divine Remix kits (DR v8 only - don't install the sphere system).
More specific information about the mod, along with a download link, can be found here:

It works with TOB, TuTu, BGT, BG:EE, and BG2:EE. I'm working on compatibility with IWD:EE. Enjoy.
