A problem with a custom font that only occurs in IWD and BG2

Hi,

I've been getting into some light IE GUI modding lately and, although I've been quite succesful in figuring out how to achieve most of the stuff I had in mind, I have run into one issue that I can't find a solution for.

I am very picky when it comes to fonts and have used the Font Bam Generator to experiment with (literally) dozens of fonts before finally landing on one I consider perfect (it's the font used in Neverwinter Nights 2, which can be found in a subfolder of that game's installation folder). I made several different sized versions for vanilla BG1 (as in non-Tutu / BGT) and was extremely happy with the results, so I used the same .bams for PS:T, and with the same satisfying results. The problem, however, occurs when I use those .bams with IWD (with HoW and TotL)  and BG2 (with ToB) -- all characters that have a longer "lower half" (q, y, p, g and j) have their bottoms cut off regardless of what size I generate the font in and I can't figure out why or how to fix it.

I guess something was changed with the BG2 version of the engine, which now affects IWD as well as a result (I believe) of HoW introducing UI code from BG2 to support higher resolutions, storage containers, etc. and I was hoping some of you modding experts could point me in the right direction. I've looked at the relevant .chu files, but there is nothing there that would allow me to change the default spacing between lines of text, which I *think* is what needs to be looked at.

Any help would be much appreciated.
