another problem with the arena

first let me say thx for the mod.

my problem is with the mage's competition. The fighter did not have any problems, but when i send edwin (edwina for the time being) for the mage's competition he does not become selectable. The screen goes to him for the umpire to give the instructions but then cuts back again to the rest of the party and stays there.

btw i entered immediately in the 2nd day of the arena. does this mean i won't have the opportunity to fight for the 1st day's prize?
Also i read somewhere that to fight for the 3rd day my pc has to level up instead of coming back the next day. Is this true?
